IN RECOGNITION OF SANDY CRITTENDEN FOR HIS
CONTRIBUTIONS AND COMMITMENT TO THE FRIENDS OF
THE ATHERTON COMMUNITY LIBRARY
WHEREAS, Sandy Crittenden has been a life-long Town resident attending Menlo-Atherton High School and earning a Boy Scout Eagle Badge along the way; WHEREAS, Mr. Crittenden commitment to community and public service was developed through his family’s history of civic engagement;
WHEREAS, Sandy has served on the Friends of the Atherton Community Library for over 20 years and served as the President for 8 years;
WHEREAS, Sandy also served as the President and Treasurer of Holbrook-Palmer Foundation for over 25 years and played a pivotal role in major projects at Holbrook-Palmer Park including repairs to the Gen Merrill Carriage House and Water Tower; WHEREAS, Sandy Crittenden has a robust history of volunteerism and charitable activities having served food at the Menlo Park holiday breakfast and Ronald McDonald House for 13 years and contributed to charities such as the Peninsula Family Service Agency, Silicon Valley Foundation, and Menlo Park Rotary College Scholarship Foundation to name a few.
NOW, THEREFORE, as Mayor of the Town of Atherton, and on behalf of the Atherton City Council, I hereby recognize an outstanding citizen of Atherton, Sandy Crittenden for his tremendous commitment to volunteerism and charitable work with the Friends of the Atherton Community Library and other local efforts.
