SUBJECT: 2024 COUNCIL COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Council receive and file the Mayor’s City Council Committee Assignments and concur with the assignment to the Refuse Services Standing Subcommittee.
BACKGROUND
The newly selected Mayor reorganizes the City Council committees and regional assignments each January. A complete list of the 2024 Council assignments selected by Mayor Hawkins-Manuelian is attached for reference.
In addition to the Standing Committee for Refuse Services, there is one City Council Ad Hoc Subcommittee - the existing Historic Train Station Ad Hoc Subcommittee. This Subcommittee existed previously and has a charter to provide the City Council with a recommendation for consideration on what to do with the interior of the Historic Train Station. Membership on this Ad Hoc Subcommittee has not changed.

POLICY FOCUS
There are no significant policy issues associated with this item. Councilmembers annual provide their preferred committee selections ot the Mayor. The Mayor then makes appointments.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with this agenda item being listed, at least 72 hours prior to the meeting in print and electronically. Information about the project is also disseminated via the Town’s electronic News Flash and Atherton Online. There are approximately 1,200 subscribers to the Town’s electronic News Flash publications. Subscribers include residents as well as stakeholders –to include, but be not limited to, media outlets, school districts, Menlo Park Fire Protection District, service provides (water, power, and sewer), and regional elected officials.
