CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hawkins-Manuelian called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.
ROLL CALL – Holland, Widmer, DeGolia, Vice Mayor Lewis, Mayor Hawkins-Manuelian – Present

SPECIAL MEETING ITEMS
1. PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON REACH CODE APPROACHES TO REDUCE
GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS FROM BUILDINGS
City Manager Rodericks introduced the item. TRC Companies Consultants Taylor and Farahmand lead the presentation. Blake Herrschaft from Peninsula Clean Energy also responded to Council inquires.
Council discussed the modeling approaches including the energy performance approach, compliance, regulated appliances, and options for new construction or existing single-family homes.
Council discussed state building code requirements versus the proposed reach codes and provided guidance and direction to staff.
This item will be returned to a future Council meeting for consideration of adopting amendments to the Atherton Municipal Code.
2. BRIEFING ON PROCESS TO UPDATE THE ATHERTON SAFETY ELEMENT Town Planner Bendix led the presentation with an overview of the safety element, why it is being updated and what benefits it has to the community. Bendix articulated that the update ensures consistency with other general plan elements and complies with state regulations.
Council discussed the specific details that would be included in the update, maps, and outcomes that might impact residents.

3. RECIEVE AND FILE THE 2024 ATHERTON ANNUAL EVENT ACTIVITY
CALENDAR
City Manager Rodericks introduced the item and indicated that staff plans to update the events calendar throughout the year to be included within regular meeting departmental reports.
Council requested a third summer concert and a movie that engages an adult audience.
