SPECIAL MEETING
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hawkins-Manuelian called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.
ROLL CALL – Holland, DeGolia, Widmer, Vice Mayor Lewis, Hawkins-Manuelian – Present
PUBLIC COMMENT – NONE
SPECIAL MEETING ITEMS
1. CONSIDER ADOPTING A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT TWO (2) QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024, BALLOT FOR CITY COUNCIL
AND CANCEL THE ATHERTON CITY COUNCIL ELECTION INACCORDANCE WITH ELECTION CODE 10229
City Clerk Suber presented the item and results from the candidate filing period noting that both incumbents (Elizbeth Lewis and Diana Hawkins-Manuelian) qualified for the ballot meeting all elections code requirements.
MOTION by Widmer, Second by DeGolia to approve Resolution No. 24-15 providing for the appointment of Elizabeth Lewis and Diana Hawkins Manuelian to the offices of City Council of the Town of Atherton for four-year terms and canceling the November 5, 2024 municipal election.

2. CONSIDERATION OF AN APPOINTMENT TO THE TOWN OF ATHERTON
PLANNING COMMISSION
City Clerk Suber presented the candidate
City Council discussed the appointment and an interest in having a full committee to be apart of the upcoming Housing Element conversations.
Sandy Levinson addressed council and spoke to her interest in serving the community.
MOTION by Widmer, Second by Lewis to appoint Sandy Levinson to the Planning Commission for a term expiring on June 30, 2028.
