SPECIAL MEETING ITEMS
1. EL CAMINO REAL STORMWATER AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT
Public Works Director Ovadia introduced the item and consultant Eric Biland, P.E. from Freyer & Laureta, Inc.
Biland led the council through a presentation that covered the existing drainage system, flooding events along the El Camino Real corridor, the impact on the community, flooding solutions, conceptual designs, and preliminary cost estimates.
Council held a detailed discussion on flooding issues, challenges and benefits associated with solutions, and timelines for implementation.
City Attorney Ebrahimi provided some guidance on how the Town deals with water management and flooding.
2. UPPER ATHERTON CHANNEL STABILIZATION PROJECT
Public Works Director Ovadia presented the item to Council with Eric from Tetra Tech and noted the damages sustained by erosion due to the history of rain events.
Eric presented an overview of the channel and his inspection. He discussed hydraulic models and flood mapping, conceptual design solutions, and considerations.
