To review management’s financial statements and budgets; send recommendations to the Council. As an auditor and CPA who audits other cities around the state, I have a rare insight into how many other California cities organize and report their financial activities, including other San Mateo County cities.

Describe why you want

I’d like to offer my expertise and point of view, as it is unique from the other members of the committee. I think this will enhance the breadth and depth of the experiences and
backgrounds of the committee.

Additional Information

I’ve been interested in this committee for a decade, but now have the cycles to be able to volunteer for it, and would like to put my hat in the ring, so to speak.

I understand that the Audit and Finance Committee provides oversight and guidance on the Town of Atherton's financial policies, budget development, long-term financial planning, and audit processes. The committee ensures fiscal responsibility, transparency, and alignment with the Town's strategic priorities.

As a CPA with 40 years of experience (formerly with KPMG), owner of a Registered Investment Advisory firm managing $850 million in client assets, and CFO/Chief Compliance Officer of that firm, I bring expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow projections, and risk management. My career has been
dedicated to business operations, and strategic planning. I’ve also run a CPA firm focused on tax planning for four decades.

Having lived in Atherton for four years and attended many Audit and Finance Committee meetings as an observer, I am
interested in the Town's financial operations and governance. I would be honored to contribute my skills and experience to support the Town’s fiscal health and long-term success.

I continue to be fascinated by the inner workings of the Town. I am drawn to it and have been since we arrived here four years ago. Frankly, it is hard to say why. It's just a natural curiosity.

Advise and make recommendations to the City Council upon request of all matters pertaining to town finances and town audit.

Work with the city manager on the operating budget, long range financial plan and the capital budget. Provide oversight of annual audit, review scope of audit and help the City Council

My career, volunteer work and academic study have centered around finance and control. I enjoy working with Finance and Controllership functions and serving on Finance Committees and believe I add a lot of value to the Finance Committees I have served on. I would like to give back to the town I love and think Finance and Audit is a good way to begin my volunteer service ATTACHMENT 1
as allows me to bring my skills to the town and Finance is a good way to learn about how the town operates and how I can be of service. I like hard work and will follow up diligently and thoroughly on all tasks that I am responsible for. I see the big picture and can add value whether at a detail or strategic level.
