Subject: Parking and Traffic Study – Scope and Budget Amendment – Study B Dear Robert,
We are pleased to offer continued assistance with the Parking and Traffic Evaluations that were approved by the City Council on January 21, 2026. Per the 06/17/26 City Council direction and our follow up communication, here is a summary of current and planned efforts with necessary revisions to the approved scope and budget for Study B - Traffic Study for Middlefield Road.
Task B.1 – completed.
Task B.2 - As currently approved, this task involves developing signal timing plans for the proposed traffic signals at the Middlefield/Watkins and Middlefield/Fair Oaks/Palmer intersections, and signal timing coordination along five intersections using Synchro. No in-person meetings are included. The revised effort include seven intersections from Ringwood to Fair Oaks / Palmer (Ringwood, Ravenswood, Oak Grove, Encinal, Watkins, Marsh, and Fair Oaks / Palmer).
TJKM will develop optimized signal-timing plans at the study intersections along the Middlefield corridor for the weekday a.m., school p.m., and p.m. peak periods. Also added are two in-person meetings. Increased efforts require budget amendment as outlined below:
a) Signal timing coordination for two additional intersections (total seven) - $8,000 b) Increased data collection - $900
c) Preparation and attendance at two in-person meetings - $ 5,500 For these additional efforts, a budget amendment for $14,400 is necessary. Once approved, the new task budget will be $34,400 (from $20,000 currently).
I appreciate your approval of this amendment. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
TJKM Transportation Consultants
