January 10, 2022
CALL TO ORDER:
The City Council of the City of Atwater met in Special Session this date at 4:30 PM in the City Council Chambers located at the Atwater Civic Center, 750 Bellevue Road, Atwater, California and on Zoom; Mayor Creighton presiding.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge of Allegiance was deferred to the next regular City Council meeting of January 10, 2022.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
Notice to the public was read.
No one came forward to speak.
City Council Special Meeting Action Minutes for January 10. 2022 Page 2 COMMISSIONER MEMBER INTERVIEWS:
Interviews for one (1) scheduled vacancy on the City of Atwater Planning Commission, for the term of four (4) years, ending December 31, 2025 The City Council interviewed four of the five qualified candidates. One of the candidates requested to have their application withdrawn before their scheduled interview time and was not considered in the selection process.
COMMISSIONER MEMBER APPOINTMENT:
Appointment of one (1) Commissioner Member to the scheduled vacancy on the City of Atwater Planning Commission, for the term of four (4) years, ending December 31, 2025 Mayor Creighton called a recess at 4:49 PM.
Mayor Creighton resumed the meeting at 4:51 PM.
By consensus the City Council, by roll call vote, nominated one candidate to fill the scheduled vacancy on the Planning Commission.
MOTION: Mayor Creighton moved to appoint candidate Theron S. Sanders Sr. to the Planning Commission for the term offour(4) years, ending December 31, 2025.
The motion was seconded by City Council Member Raymond and the vote was:
Ayes: Raymond, Creighton; Noes: Cale, Button; Absent: Ambriz. The motion failed.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Cale moved to appoint candidate Harold Kadach to the Planning Commission for the term of four (4) years, ending December 31, 2025. The motion was seconded by City Council Member Button and the vote was: Ayes:
Cale, Raymond, Button, Creighton; Noes: None; Absent: Ambriz. The motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting adjourned at 5:24 PM.
