CALL TO ORDER:
The City Council of the City of Atwater met in Special Session this date at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers located at the Atwater Civic Center, 750 Bellevue Road, Atwater, California; Mayor Creighton presiding.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lieutenant Novetzke.
INVOCATION:
The invocation was led by City Council Member Raymond.

CITY MANAGER REPORTS/UPDATES:
Discussion and possible action regarding the unscheduled vacancy for the position of City Clerk as a result of the resignation of City Clerk Armstrong City Manager Waterman provided background information on this item and addressed the concerns of the City Council regarding the unscheduled vacancy of the City Clerk position.
City Council Member Raymond asked regarding elected and appointed City Clerk and cost associated.
Mayor Creighton asked for clarification regarding the position.
City Council Member Button asked regarding the application process.
City Attorney Stager provided clarification on various items.
Mayor Pro Tem Cale asked for clarification regarding the election process.
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Cale moved to open the application for City Clerk to all qualified electors in the City of Atwater for the remainder of the term ending December 2024. The application will close on November 9, 2022 at 5 PM and interviews will be held at a City Council special meeting November 14, 2022. The motion was seconded by City Council Member Raymond and the vote was: Ayes:
Button, Raymond, Ambriz, Creighton; Noes: None; Absent: None. The motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Creighton adjourned the Special Meeting at 6:23 PM.
