CITY COUNCIL MINUTES

SPECIAL SESSION
A Special Session of the Auburn City Council was held at City Hall, 1225 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA and via Zoom Webinars on Monday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Sandy Amara presiding and City Clerk Amy Lind recording the minutes. This Special Session of the City Council was held pursuant to Government Code section 54953(e) related to teleconferencing of meetings. The Governor's Proclamation of a State Emergency was still in effect and the City Council made the necessary findings under the law to hold teleconference meetings in this manner.

Election Results
City Clerk Amy Lind read the results of the Canvass of Vote, certified by Placer County Clerk Ryan Ronco, for the November 8, 2022 Municipal Election, and reported the breakdown of the total votes cast.

By RESOLUTION 23-132, declare the results of the General Municipal Election held on November 8, 2022.
The motion was made by Council Member Dowdin Calvillo and seconded by Council Member Berlant and approved by the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Spokely, Berlant, Dowdin Calvillo, Radell-Harris, Amara Noes: None

Remarks from the Outgoing Council Member
Council Member Matt Spokely addressed his time on the Council.
Mayor Amara presented outgoing Council Member Spokely with a gift of appreciation.

A. Nomination and Selection of Mayor
Mayor Sandy Amara to declare nominations open for the position of Mayor. Council Member Radell-Harris nominated Vice Mayor Dowdin Calvillo for Mayor.
The motion was made by Council Member Radell-Harris and seconded by Council Member Berlant and approved by the
following roll call vote:

B. Nomination and Selection of Vice Mayor
Newly selected Mayor to declare nominations open for Vice Mayor.
Council Member Amara nominated Council Member Radell-Harris for Vice Mayor.

Mayor Dowdin Calvillo spoke about her upcoming year as Mayor.

Mayor Dowdin Calvillo adjourned the meeting, without vote and by consensus at 6:25 p.m.
