SPECIAL SESSION - WORKSHOP
A Workshop of the Auburn City Council was held at City Hall, Council Chambers, in Auburn, California on Monday, June 19; 2023 at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Dowdin Calvillo presiding and City Clerk Amy Lind recording the minutes.

Public Comment
Cheryl Maki spoke about the film Elemental that will be shown June 28'h at City FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 BUDGET WORKSHOP
Finance Director Nathan Bagwill presented a report on the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Budget Development focused on the Financial Management Policy and ARPA funds. Council member questions and comments followed, and general direction was provided to staff.
The consensus of the Council was to move the funds from the litigation reserve to the unobligated reserve fund balance.
Public comment: Cheryl Maki.
Mayor Dowdin Calvillo spoke to committee and commission budgets and noted the workplans are not automatically approved with budget. Discussion followed regarding the process of handling these requests in the future.
Council Member Berlant asked for clarity regarding the actual changes in budget.
Council received a brief overview of the proposed general fund operating budget.

Council directed staff to look at specific expenses in the general fund before coming back to the next meeting.

Mayor Dowdin Calvillo adjourned this meeting at 7:53 p.m. by consensus and without vote.
