OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Azusa is hereby called to be held Monday, July 29, 2024
at 06:30 p.m. at AZUSA AUDITORIUM.
Said Special Meeting shall be for discussing, hearing and taking action on the items listed below:

PUBLIC COMMENT
Please note that public comments are welcomed by recognition of the Mayor, and are limited to items listed on this special meeting agenda.
A Person/Group shall be allowed to speak without interruption for up to three (3) minutes maximum time, only on items appearing on this agenda, and only if a vote is taken, in accordance with the Special Meeting Provisions of the Brown Act. Public Comment will be limited to thirty (30) minutes time C.
SCHEDULED ITEM
1. ADOPT RESOLUTIONS FOR THE SUBMITTAL TO VOTERS OF AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSACTION AND USE (SALES) TAX FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 BALLOT FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING LOCAL CONTROL OF REVENUES GENERATED IN AZUSA TO DIRECTLY BENEFIT AZUSANS.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1) Provide direction to staff on ballot language to be placed in Resolutions Adopting A Supplemental Transaction and Use Tax for the November 5, 2024 Ballot; and
2) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C40 ordering that an Ordinance be submitted to Azusa voters at the General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 2024, approving enacting an amendment to the City's Transaction and Use Tax; and
3) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C41 providing for the filing of primary and rebuttal arguments and setting rules for the filing of written arguments regarding a city measure to be submitted at the November 5, 2024 general municipal election; and.
4) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C42 requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to consolidate a general municipal election to be held on November 5, 2024 with the Statewide General Election to be held on that date pursuant to §10403 of the elections code.
