SUBJECT: Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 17-199 with United Ventures Bakersfield, LLC current owners of Days Inn by Wyndham Bakersfield formerly named EZ 8 Motel (increase total compensation of $180,000; revised not-to-exceed $227,100.00) for the 24th Street Improvement Project. (Ward 3)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the amendment.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the Thomas Road Improvement Program (TRIP), the City of Bakersfield acquired prop erties to widen 24th Street. The City obtained a portion of the property owned by United Ventures Bakersfield, LLC, (Days Inn Hotel), and as a part of mitigation, the City agreed to pay for curative work to restore and improve their parking lot. This amendment pays for the parking lot improvements to be completed including grading, restoration of the asphalt pavement, and restriping.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Adequate local funds have been previously budgeted for this work. Therefore, there is no impact to the City General Fund associated with this agreement.
