BACKGROUND:
There is currently one vacancy on the Golden Empire Transit District Board due to the expiration of term of Carlos Bello, whose term expired January 4, 2025.
Applications for appointment were received from:
Fabian Gallardo
Carlos Bello - Incumbent
The Golden Empire Transit District Board supervises and regulates transit facilities owned, operated or controlled by the district, including establishment of rates, rentals, charges and classifications, enforcement of regulations, contracts, practices and sche dules. City representatives are nominated and appointed by the full Council and must be residents of the City of Bakersfield throughout their term.
Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the District Board Room at 1830 Golden State Avenue
