ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT
MEETING DATE: January 22, 2025 AGENDA CATEGORY: Consent Calendar Public Hearings TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Jennifer M. Byers, Economic and Community Development Director DATE: January 15, 2025
SUBJECT: Public Hearing to consider HUD Substantial Action Plan Amendment No. 5 FY 2023-2024 to add Niles Street Project (Ward 2).
FY 23-24 Amendment No. 5: Add Niles Street Affordable Housing as a project to FY 23-24 Action Plan.
New Construction Assistance, transfer funds from New Construction Assistance FY 23-24 ($1,358,955 HOME) to Niles Street Affordable Housing.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends open the public hearing and then close the hearing, but take no action.
BACKGROUND:
On November 25, 2024, City staff issued a public notice for an Action Plan Amendment creating the Niles Street Affordable Housing Project in the HUD Action Plan. After posting, staff identified that the notice had incorrectly referenced the Action Plan Year and funding sources and requests no action be taken on this item.
Staff released the accurate public notice on December 20, 2024 for the Niles Street Project, as a separate action at this meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The approval of the amendment to the Action Plan will not spend any general funds, as all of the funding for these projects are using the HUD funding and not General Funds.
COUNCIL GOAL:
Safety and Resilience
