MEETING DATE: February 12, 2025 AGENDA CATEGORY: Consent - Agreement TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Kristina Budak, Water Director
DATE: January 31, 2025
SUBJECT: Agreement with Dee Jaspar & Associates, Inc. ($149,208.50) to provide construction management and inspection services
for the CBK-83 Tank and Booster Station Project. (Ward 5)

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The Water Department has several projects scheduled for construction in FY 2024/25. Three of these projects require construction management and inspection services beyond the capacity of current City staff. To address this, the City issued a Request for Qualifications on June 20, 2024, for Construction Management and Inspection Services. Four consulting firms submitted Statements of Qualification and were pre-qualified for these projects.

On January 9, 2025, Dee Jaspar & Associates, Inc. (Dee Jaspar) submitted a proposal for construction management and inspection services for the CBK-83 Tank and Booster Station project. This project includes a 333,000-gallon storage tank and four booster pumps to meet flow and pressure requirements for the Stockdale River Ranch community build-out.

City staff recommends approving an agreement with Dee Jaspar due to their strong qualifications and competitive proposal. The agreement covers the full construction phase at a total cost not to exceed $149,208.50.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Sufficient funds are budgeted in the Water Resources Capital Improvement Budget within the Domestic Water Fund, therefore, there is no impact to the City General Fund with this agreement.

COUNCIL GOAL:

Reliable Infrastructure
