BACKGROUND:
On November 4, 2015, the City entered into Agreement No. 15-263 with California Eminent Domain Law Group to provide legal services in support of the right of way acquisition program for the Centennial Corridor Project and other major road projects . On August 16, 2017, the City Council amended the agreement to increase the amount of compensation by $200,000, t otaling $500,000. On November 18, 2020, the City Council amended the agreement to increase the amount of compensation by another $100,000, totaling $600,000. The City wishes to continue to utilize the legal services provided by California Eminent Domain Law Group and wishes to update the fee schedule to California Eminent Domain Law Groups current schedule of fees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Due to the fact that the work under this agreement will only take place because of a larger acquisition on a major infrastru cture project or a major project for a public purpose, the funding for the amended agreement will be paid for by a specific projects budgets. Mainly these projects have been federally funded, thus leveraging other funds and having a lower utilization of City General Funds.
