CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
PROPOSITION 47 LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
1. Name of Committee
This committee shall be called the Proposition 47 Local Advisory Committee (the LAC).
2. Purpose
The LAC serves to advise on ongoing implementation of the Proposition 47 Grant Program.
3. Business Office
The LAC business office shall be located at the City of Bakersfield, City Clerk’s Office, 1600 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California 93301.
4. Duties & Activities
The LAC is formed to receive updates and advise on Proposition 47 Grant Program implementation, to provide feedback on strategies and services being funded through the Grant, to approve the Local Evaluation Plan, and to appoint members of the public through an open process . The LAC shall remain in place six months following the grant funding period, through December 31, 2028.
5. Committee Members
a. The LAC shall consist of nine (9) representatives of the Bakersfield -Kern R egional Homeless Collaborative, three (3) representatives of the City’s Referral Network; three (3) community members; and one (1) non -voting LAC Coordinator as appointed by the City Manager or designee . LAC members shall be appointed and serve for the duration of the grant funding period.
b. Members shall be at least 18 years of age.
c. The LAC may remove any LAC member for any reason by a simple majority vote. d. The LAC shall hold public meetings in compliance with the Brown Act.
6. Compensation/funding
There is no monetary compensation for serving on the LAC , and the LAC shall not have any form of budget for any purpose.
