FROM: Darin Budak, Recreation and Parks Director
DATE: February 27, 2025

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the amendment.

BACKGROUND:

On June 28, 2023, Council approved Agreement No. 2023 -147 with San Diego Landsystems, LLC (Contractor) wherein Contractor would provide streetscape and median maintenance at designated public landscape areas for an initial 3 -year period. The area maintained by Contractor was designated Zone 4 by CITY Staff, which includes streetscape and medians generally located on Brimhall Road between Allen Road and Coffee Road and portions of Coffee Road from the Rosedale Highway to Stockdale Highway.

The or iginal scope of the agreement excluded small pockets of streetscape and medians that are not currently maintained which are adjacent to existing maintenance areas. The CITY desires to expand the maintenance of Zone 4 to include these pockets.

Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 2023-147 will encompass these pockets of streetscapes and medians for regular maintenance by increasing the compensation by $71,200.00, to a new not to exceed amount of $614,800.00.

FISCAL IMPACT: There is sufficient funding within t he Recreation and Parks Department’s existing FY 2024/25 operating budget within the General Fund to allow for the expansion of the maintenance agreement. No additional funding is required.

COUNCIL GOAL:

Community Character & Quality of Life
Innovative and Efficient City Government
