Reject bid for Fire Station 1 Apparatus Bay and Administrative Office Re-roof for the Fire Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend rejection of bids.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for Fire Station 1 Apparatus Bay and Administrative Office Re -roof for the Fire Department. Two bids for were received in response to the solicitation.
The two bids received are as follows:

Pacific Polymer, Inc. submitted a request to be relieved of bid due to a material error. The request was submitted within the time allotted per the bid specifications, therefore, the bid from Pacific Polymer, Inc. will not be considered. The next responsive low bid submitted by Midstate Sheetmetal, Inc, in the amount of $748,880 exceeds budgeted funds in the amount of $397,100 by more than 88%. Staff recommend rejecting the bid to make necessary changes to the project’s scope of work within the bid specifications and re-issue the bid solicitation.
