ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT

MEETING DATE: May 14, 2025 AGENDA CATEGORY: Consent - Agreements TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Randy McKeegan, Finance Director
DATE: May 1, 2025
SUBJECT: Agreement with Cherry Road Technologies, Inc.
(not to exceed $180,000) to provide review and analysis of Oracle ERP configuration

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of agreement

BACKGROUND:

The City of Bakersfield went live with the Oracle ERP Financials software on April 1, 2024. The Oracle ERP Financials system replaced the legacy software Naviline, which the City had operated since 1997 . This project offered an opportunity to bring in a best-in-breed, cloud-based financial system aimed at reducing inefficiencies in business processes Citywide. As is common practice for businesses and government agencies alike, upon implementing a system of this magnitude, the Finance Department will contract Cherry Road Technologies, Inc., an Oracle software implementation company to complete a review and assessment of the current system configuration and provide feedback regarding areas of opportunity to optimize efficiencies.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of the Agreement will include $180,000 of cost; however this cost was anticipated as a part of the existing ERP Replacement Project budget. There is no additional General Fund impact.

COUNCIL GOAL:

Innovative and Efficient City Government
