SUBJECT: Amendment 3 to Agreement No. 2022-099 with BDM Inc. to Furnish and Install A/C units for the Police Property Room.
Amendment 3 to Agreement No. 2022-099 with BDM, Inc. (extend the term to December 31, 2025) to allow additional time to complete the AC installation for the Bakersfield Police Department Property Room.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this amendment.
BACKGROUND:
In May 2022, the City advertised an Invitation to Bid to furnish and install Air Conditioning (AC) units at the Bakersfield Police Department Property Room. The property room is a pre-engineered metal building that currently is without air conditioning. The property room can reach up to 110 degrees during the Bakersfield su mmer months, this project will provide five (5) AC units and modification of duct and electrical work to adequately maintain climate control for all staff at this facility.
On June 1, 2022, the city entered into Agreement No. 2022-099 with BDM, Inc. with a term date of June 1, 2023, and a total compensation of $125,785 for installation of five (5) AC units.
On May 24, 2023, the CITY amended the original Agreement No. 2022 -099 and entered into Agreement No. 2022 -099 (1) with BDM, Inc. with a new term da te of June 1, 2024, and a total compensation of $215,785 for the installation of five (5) AC units for the Bakersifeld Police Departments Property Room.
On April 10, 2024, the City entered into Amendment (2) to Agreement No. 2022 -099 to extend the term date to June 1, 2025, to allow additional time to complete the AC installation for the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) Property Room.
The BPD is now requesting to extend the term date to December 31, 2025, to allow for more time for the completion of this project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2024 -25 budgeted and are within the Capital Outlay Fund for this project, no additional General Fund are needed at this time.
