ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT
MEETING DATE: May 28, 2025 AGENDA CATEGORY: Consent - Agreement TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Kristina Budak, Water Director
DATE: May 14, 2025
SUBJECT: Amendment No. 1 to Agreement 2024-124 with Advanced Industrial Services (extend term to May 31, 2026) to provide industrial cleaning services for the Wastewater Division.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of amendment.
BACKGROUND:
Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 2 and Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 3 require routine industrial cleaning services beyond the expertise of City staff. These services include but are not limited to changing out granul ar media in Sulfatreat vessels; cleaning confined spaces such as dissolved air floatation thickener units, aeration basins, and septage pits; and jetting centrate, sludge, and drain pipelines.
On May 22, 2024, City entered into Agreement No. 2024-124 with Advanced Industrial Services to provide industrial cleaning services for the Wastewater Division.
At this time, staff recommends exercising the option to extend the contract for one additional year through May 31, 2026, in accordance with the original terms of Agreement No. 2024-124. The amendment will provide for continued industrial cleaning services at both wastewater treatment plants. Total compensation will remain the same, but City did receive and accept an updated rate sheet for 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are budgeted in the Sewer Enterprise Fund for this amendment, therefore, there is no impact to the City General Fund associated with this amendment.
COUNCIL GOAL:
Reliable Infrastructure
