SUBJECT: Contract Change Order No. 2 to Agreement No. 2024-084 with GSE Construction Co. ($15,351.00 Revised not to exceed $3,170,260.00) for the Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 2 Bar Screen Rehabilitation Project (Ward 1)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the contract change order.
BACKGROUND: The work to be performed consists, in general, of the replacement of existing mechanical bar screen and conveyor system and installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant No.2.
Contract Change Order No.2 provides for the demolition and removal of the existing concrete wall to improve access between the main control panel and bar screens. The contractor agrees to do the above- mentioned work for the lump sum price of $7,026.00.
Additionally, due to the existing bar screen being inactive and allowing debris through to the wet well, the project engineer requested additional cleaning and removal of debris from the wet well pump area prior to the installation of the new bar screen. The contractor agrees to do the above-mentioned work for the lump sum price of $8,325.00.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Ge neral Fund impact associated with this change order. Sewer Enterprise funding is available in Project E3K306 to cover this cost.
The total construction cost increase for the Contract Change order No.2 is $15,351.00. This is the second change order to date on the project and reflects a total cost increase of $63,260.00 (2.0 percent increase to the original contract amount) as illustrated below:
