SUBJECT: 2025 CenCal APA Planning Awards Winner
Dear Ed and Darryl:
Congratulations! On behalf of the Central Section APA Board, I’m honored to notify you that the City of Bakersfield Active Transport ation Plan has been selected to receive the Award of Excellence for the 2025 Transportation Planning Award. The CenCal APA Board applauds your efforts to develop and implement excellent planning programs that improve the quality of life of our residents in the Central Section.
If desired, a CenCal APA Board member would be happy to attend a governing Council, Commission, or Board meeting specific to your agency to formally present an award plaque.
Alternatively, the award can be sent via mail. Please reach out to me by Friday, April 25, 2025, to coordinate your del ivery preference and the number of awards desired . CenCal APA automatically provides one award; any desired additional awards must be paid for separately.
One award will be mailed unless otherwise coordinated by the noted deadline.
As a section award recipient, you are eligible to submit your project for APA California Award s Program consideration to APA CA’s Transportation Planning Award category. If you choose to submit a nomination, please note that the submission window is typically from mid-April to mid- May 2025. Details are available on the Chapter website at the following link: Awards - American Planning Association California Chapter . If/when needed, I am happy to provide the Section award confirmation signature on your State application.
Again, congratulations on your award! A big t hanks to you and your team for your outstanding planning efforts which are making a positive difference to the people of the Central Valley.
