SUBJECT: Termination of Agreement 2023-258 with Kern County Hospital Authority (not to exceed $1,180,900) to provide mental health services in four local shelters.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends termination of the subrecipient agreement.
BACKGROUND:
In November 2023, the City of Bakersfield entered into Agreement No. 2023-258 with Kern County Hospital Authority in the amount of $1,180,900 ($880,900 in HHAP- 3 funds and $300,000 in HHAP- 4 funds) to provide mental health services in each of the four local shelters.
Section 6 of Agreement No. 2023-258 between Kern County Hospital Authority and the City of Bakersfield provided that either party may terminate this Agreement with written notice, thirty days before the termination is effective.
The Kern County Hospital Authority was unable to move forward with this project. As of today’s date, the City has not received or processed any invoices from the Kern County Hospital Authority for mental health services under Agreement No. 2023-258. Therefore, the parties mutually desire that City Council terminate Agreement No. 2023-258.
