SUBJECT: Accept bid and approve contract with Midstate Sheetmetal, Inc., ($403,869) for Fire Station 1 Apparatus Bay and Administrative Office Re-roof. (Ward 2)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend acceptance of bid and approval of contract.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited to Fire Station 1 Apparatus Bay and Administrative Office Re -roof. Seven bids were received in response to the solicitation.
The existing roof on the Apparatus Bay and Administrative Office at Fire Station 1 is an 80 -year-old composition roof, last maintained in 2011, and is now in need of refurbishment. Re-roofing the structure will improve protection against weather -related issues such as leaks and water intrusion, while also enhancing the building’s insulation.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $397,100 have been previously budgeted in the Capital Outlay Fund for this project. Staff have recognized savings in the Capital Outlay Fund to cover the shortage in the amount of $6,769 to cover the difference. No appropriation of funds is required.
