RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of amendment.
BACKGROUND:
The Water Department is responsible for the City’s Municipal Water System and various Capital Improvement Projects requiring geotechnical and materials testing services. These services include soil and subsurface evaluations, compaction and concrete testing, pavement and foundation design support, and geotechnical investigations for water-related infrastructure such as tanks, pipelines, pump stations, and river structures. A key focus of recent on-call work has been supporting projects within the Kern River corridor.
On June 6, 2024, City entered into Agreement No. WR24-016 with BSK Associates to provide geotechnical and materials testing services.
Since the agreement was awarded, BSK Associates has completed multiple geotechnical and materials investigations and testing services for the Department. To support ongoing project needs, the Department now seeks to increase the agreement’s compensation limit.
The proposed amendment would increase the compensation by $140,000, resulting in a revised not -to- exceed amount of $240,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are budgeted within the Agricultural Water Fund for this amendment and therefore there is no impact to the General Fund.
COUNCIL GOAL:
Reliable Infrastructure
