Dear Ms. Drimakis,
The Sierra Club hereby appeals the July 17 Bakersfield Planning Commission approval of Vesting Tentative Tract Map 7450.
The Sierra Club is an international environmental non-profit organization dedicated to addressing environmental and environmental justice issues. The local Sierra Club chapter, the Kem-Kaweah Chapter, has approximately 1150 local members who would be affected by impacts that would result from construction of Tract 7450 including air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and habitat loss.
The Sierra Club has submitted both written and oral comments that have not been appropriately addressed by the Bakersfield Planning Commission. Issues include lack of appropriate mitigation for cumulative climate change, cumulative air pollution, and habitat loss impacts.
Details as to why we think the Planning Commission decision should not be upheld are included in the Sierra Club July 15 letter that is in the record for this project.
Sincerely,
~c4v,j71AH
