SUBJECT: Agreement with Trans-West Security (not to exceed $470,000) to provide site security services at the 18th & Eye Street Parking Garage and City Hall North for the next two fiscal years
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the agreement
BACKGROUND:
Trans-West Security has been providing security services for the City of Bakersfield since 2022. The City and Trans-West entered into Agreement No. 2022-118 for onsite security service at City’s 18th & Eye Street Parking Facility and City Hall North with an initial one (1) year term and optional four (4) extensions for one (1) year.
Both parties are looking to extend the initial term of Agreement No. 2022-118, but the Agreement inadvertently expired on July 26, 2025, before additional extensions were executed.
Both parties desire to execute a new two-year agreement, which would expire June 30th, 2027, to continue to perform onsite security services without a need for a new request for proposal since a dditional extensions were allowed and anticipated per the terms of Agreement No. 2022-118.
