SUBJECT: Electrical Automation of GAC Vessels and Associated Project Upgrades Dear Mr. Donohue:
Ardurra is pleased to present this change order updating the design services contract to include the following design services:
• Automating the operation of the GAC vessels and providing two additional P&IDs and Electrical drawings to schematically show operation of the new system.
• Evaluating the current backwash waste discharge sump, sump gravity discharge pipe, and GAC discharge pipe and providing upgrades in the form of (2) two civil details based on the new systems hydraulic parameters • Provide a mechanical detail that illustrates the removal and replacement of the existing insertion flowmeter with a new magmeter.
SCOPE OF WORK
TASK 1 Additional Design
Task 1.1 Mechanical/Civil Design
• Provide mechanical design services associated with adding the electrically actuated valves to the GAC vessels to allow for fully automated operation of all modes.
• Provide one mechanical detail for the replacement of the insertion flowmeter on the discharge of the L-208 pump.
• Provide two civil details for the sump and underground sump pipe for the backwash waste The additional mechanical design items are to be included within the PDR and drawings, specifications, and estimates at the, 90%, 100%, and final design levels.

Provide controls design services associated with adding the electrically actuated valves to the GAC vessels to allow for fully automated operation of all modes. Added design items are to be included in the PDR and drawings, specifications, and estimates at the 90%, 100% and final design levels.
Task 1.4 QA/QC
Additional QA/QC effort associated with the additional design drawings and specifications.
Taks 1.5 Project Management
Additional management responsibilities associated with project coordination.
PROJECT FEE AND SCHEDULE
The proposed design work is anticipated to not add any additional time to the schedule.
We propose to complete this work on a time and materials basis at a total cost not to exceed $42,305. A breakdown of the proposed fee is attached. We appreciate the opportunity to provide our proposed scope and fee to the City for this work and would be happy to discuss the scope, fee, and schedule further with the City.
