Re: Appeal of August 21, 2025, Planning Commission Decision Approving Vesting Tentative Tract Map No. 7500 Based on MND for GPA/ZC 07-1874
Dear Ms. Drimakis and Ms. Eng:
This letter is submitted on behalf of Supporters Alliance for Environmental Responsibility (“SAFER”) regarding the Planning Commission’s approval of Vesting Tentative Tract Map No. 7500, which proposes the subdivision of 39.92 acres into 208 single-family residential lots (“Project”). Through this letter, SAFER appeals the City of Bakersfield Planning Commission’s (“City”) August 21, 2025 decision to adopt a resolution approving Vesting Tentative Tract Map No. 7500 based on a 2007 mitigated negative declaration for GPA/ZC 07- 1874 (the “2007 MND”).
The City’s decision to rely on the 2007 MND violates the California Environmental Quality Act. The Project may have significant impacts that were not considered in the 2007 MND, requiring preparation of an Environmental Impact Report. Alternatively, there is new information, changed circumstances, and new mitigation measures requiring preparation of a new MND.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Davis
