Kevin Albertson
Fire Chief
City of Bakersfield Fire Department
Dear Chief,
As you know, the City of Bakersfield and the City of Queretaro, Mexico have been sister cities for more than 20 years. During that time, the relationship between our Fire Departments has been key in making sure our department has the needed equipment and training to provide service to a population of over two million people.
With a very limited budget we have proficiently used the donations provided in the past.
Currently, the Queretaro Fire Department services the City of Querétaro and provides mutual aid to the Metro Area in the State of Queretaro with 7 Fire Stations, running around 5500 Fire and Rescue calls yearly. Due to the continuous growth of our city's population and our objective of decreasing our response times to comply with International standards, we have started the projection of a Station 8 in the west part of the city.
It has come to our attention that there might be reserve Fire Engine, Battalion Chief Command Vehicle and Rescue tools that will be coming out of service, therefore would like to respectfully ask to be considered as a donation recipient of it, as well as outdated and no longer in use personal protective equipment, fire hoses, tools and miscellaneous equipment.
Always grateful with the support received from the Bakersfield Fire Department, we hope for yourself and your fellow Firefighter to be able to come and visit us again in the near future.
Sincerely,
Fernando Palacios
