SUBJECT: Amendment No. 1 to Agreement 2024-252 with Howden USA Company to provide labor services for the Turblex blowers located at Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 3, not to exceed $110,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend approval of the amendment.
BACKGROUND:
Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 3 operates five Turblex centrifugal blowers that provide the required air for aerobic biological processes and mixing in the aeration basins. Over six years ago, the system experienced significant issues leading to a temporary solution that operated the system by running various software applications.
On October 23, 2024, City entered into Agreement 2024 -252 with Howden USA Company (Howden) to purchase and install new and updated operating system and controls for the Turblex blowers . Howden was selected to provide on -site installation and start -up services d ue to the specialty nature of the equipment being replaced and the need to integrate with existing equipment.
Due to the increased lead time on the equipment, this amendment will extend the terms of the agreement through June 30, 2026, to ensure project completion.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is a time extension only amendment and s ufficient funds have already been budgeted in the Sewer Enterprise Fund capital improvement program, therefore, there is no impact to the City General Fund.
