SUBJECT: Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 2023-048 with TOOLE Design Group (extend term to December 31, 2027) for design services of the Martin Luther King Jr.
Blvd Corridor Enhancements Project (Ward 2)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the amendment.
BACKGROUND:
On February 22, 2023, the City of Bakersfield entered into Agreement No. 2023 -048 with TOOLE Design Group (TDG Engineering Inc.) for design services on the Martin Luther King Blvd Corridor Enhancements Project. The original agreement authorized a not-to-exceed amount of $228,980.00.
On September 13, 2023, the City expanded the scope of work and increased the compensation to a not - to-exceed amount of $817,120.00 through the app roval of Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 2023 - 048.
The City now proposes entering into Amendment No. 2, which would extend the agreement term from its current expiration date of December 31, 2025, to December 31, 2027. This extension will provide sufficient time for a comprehensive review of the project’s final design and for the provision of services required during the construction phase. This amendment does not modify the compensation; only a time extension to complete the design.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The action to amend this agreement only extends time and does not increase cost, therefore it has no impact on the General Fund.
