SUBJECT: Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 2023-296 with The Open Door Network (increase compensation $200,000; revised not-to-exceed $600,000 and extend the term to December 31, 2026) to provide clean up services for sumps, canals and basins.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend approval of the amendment.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Bakersfield has numerous sumps, canals, and basins that are managed by the Water Department, which require routine cleaning and maintenance. The amount of work required to maintain these facilities is beyond the City’s staffing availability and resources.
On December 13, 2023, City Council approved Agreement No. 2023 -296 with The Open Door Network after being selected through a Request for Proposal process. The Agreement was amended on December 18, 2024 to increase compensation and extend the term for an additional one-year, per the terms of the Agreement.
At this time, due to ongoing need for routine cleaning and maintenance, City staff recommend extending the term by one year and increasing the compensation by $200,000, for a revised amount not to exceed $600,000, in accordance with the original terms of the Agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted within the River & Ag Fund Operating Budget and there will be no impact to the City General Fund.
