I have extensive experience in labor representation, community organizing, and leadership development through my work in multiple unions. As a Shop Steward with UWUA Local 132, I’ve received training in contract enforcement, workplace safety, conflict resolution, and effective communication. My role as Young Workers Committee Chair has given me additional experience in event coordination, public speaking, volunteer management, and youth leadership development. As an Organizing Steward with IBEW Local 1245, I gained hands-on experience in campaign organizing, outreach strategy, and coalition building. I have also participated in civic engagement efforts, including supporting local elections, community programs, and charitable initiatives throughout Bakersfield. These combined experiences have strengthened my ability to collaborate, problem-solve, and advocate for the public—skills that translate directly to serving on a city board or commission.

Please explain why you wish to serve on a Board/Commission for the City of Bakersfield 3/3
I wish to serve on a Board/Commission for the City of Bakersfield because my experience in the labor movement has shown me the impact that strong civic engagement can have on working families and our community as a whole. Through my roles as a Shop Steward and Young Workers Committee Chair for UWUA 132, as well as an Organizing Steward with IBEW 1245 and a member of the Executive Board of the Kern, Inyo & Mono Counties Central Labor Council, I’ve spent years advocating for fairness, safety, and opportunity for workers. My public service has also included volunteering in community outreach, supporting local events, and participating in efforts that uplift underserved residents. Serving on a city board or commission is a natural extension of that work. I want to bring a working-class perspective, strong problem- solving skills, and a genuine commitment to helping Bakersfield grow in a way that supports all of its residents.

Do you have any interests or associations which might present a conflict of interest? If yes, please explain no
