SUBJECT: One appointment (at-large) to the Fire Civil Service Commission due to a term expiration on December 31, 2025
of Thomas Edmonds.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council determination.
BACKGROUND:
There will be one appointment to the Fire Department Civil Service Commission due to the term expiration of Thomas Edmonds on December 31, 202 5. The three-year term of the appointment will expire on December 31, 2028.

The Board is an advisory body to the City Council. It is composed of three members appointed by the full City Council. Members must be Bakersfield residents throughout their three-year term and shall have no connection with City government.
The Board formulates rules and regulations governing the selection, promotion, and discipline of members of the Fire Department. All applicants have been encouraged to contact each Council member regarding their interest and qualifications. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at Fire Station No. 1 (2101 H Street).
FISCAL IMPACT:
Commissioners receive twenty-five dollars per regular meeting attended.
