SUBJECT: Accept bid and approve contract to Rancho Tree Service for tree inventory and assessment services in the amount of $180,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend acceptance of bid and approval of contracts.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for tree inventory and assessment services for the Recreation and Parks Department.
Nine bids were received in response to the solicitation.
Tree inventory and assessment services will allow the City of Baker sfield’s Recreation and Parks Department to transition from reactive, high -cost maintenance to proactive, strategic urban forest management. These services provide data on tree locations, species, health, and risk, enabling optimized budget allocation, red uced liability for hazardous trees, improved public safety, and enhanced environmental benefits such as pollution reduction. The bids solicited were based on an estimated tree quantity of 40,000. (bid tabulation attached)
This service follows the recommendation of the Tree Advisory Group (TAG).
