SUBJECT: Creation of the Development Review Streamlining Ad Hoc Committee , appointment of members by the Vice Mayor and setting the first meeting in March.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends creation of the Ad Hoc Committee, appointment of members by the Vice-Mayor, and setting the first meeting in March.
BACKGROUND:
Council Member Eric Arias made a referral at City Council meeting of February 11, 2026, requesting the Vice Mayor to consider supporting the creation of an Ad Hoc committee specifically focused on streamlining development review and approval processes. His comments focused on the City Council goal to be one of the most business-friendly cities in the State of California and make things clearer and more concise for the applicants to come to the City to get approvals for the projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The establishment of the Ad Hoc committee is minimal cost in staff time in preparing for the committee topics.
