RESOLUTION NO. _________________
A RESOLUTION OF THE BAK ERSFIELD CITY
COUNCIL DISPENSING WITH FORMAL
BIDDING PROCEDURES IN THE PURCHASE OF
MICROSOFT UNIFIED SUPPORT SERVICES
FROM MICROSOFT CORPORATION AND
AUTHORIZING THE USE OF COOPERATIVE
PROCUREMENT CONTRACTS.
WHEREAS, the City has standardized on Microsoft unified support services for Microsoft licensed products; and
WHEREAS, the City recommends the purchase of Microsoft unified support services to integrate with current Micros oft licensed pro ducts to allow for continued centralized and proactive support for current Microsoft licensed products; and
WHEREAS, the Technology Services Director recommends the Council find that said Microsoft unified support services can only be reasonably obtained from Microsoft Corporation due to the need to integrate such work, supplies, equipment or materials into an existing system and has recommended that the Council authorize dispensing with bidding requirements in accordance with Section 3.20.060(D)(2) of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by reference.
2. The Council finds that the purchase of Microsoft unified support services can only be reasonably obtained from one supplier ( Microsoft Corporation) due to the need to integrate such work, supplies, equ ipment or materials into an existing system.
3. The Finance Director or his designee is authorized to dispense with bidding in accordance with section 3.20.060(D)( 2) of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
