This letter serves to confirm that Driver Training Solutions (DTS) is the sole provider and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the TranSim VS8 Trucking Simulator. The TranSim VS8 Trucking and Snowplow Driving Simulator incorporates a suite of unique capabilities and features not found in any other driver training simulators on the market.
The Driver Training Solutions TranSim VS8 is the only simulator that includes all the following:
• Unreal Engine Graphics: DTS exclusively utilizes the Unreal Engine platform, providing the most realistic driving environment in the industry. This increased realism reduces Simulator Adaptation Syndrome (SAS) and enhances student immersion—ultimately leading to improved training outcomes.
• LCD Vehicle Glass Dash: A virtual dashboard that accurately mimics selected vehicles for realistic instrumentation.
• Real-World Drive Motion 3-DOF Platform: A full-motion platform that moves independently from the visual display units, recreating a stationary horizon with internally moving vehicle components. Features a fully detachable seat base and 3rd-generation D- BOX motion technology.
• Interchangeable Seat Base: Enables training across trucking, law enforcement, fire, EMS, municipal, sanitation, and busing applications without the need to change the visual display system.
• Student Glass Dash: Allows either the instructor or student to select scenarios or vehicles directly from the simulator, eliminating the requirement to do so from the instructor station. • Camera and Replay System: Includes an onboard camera for live monitoring, with the ability to replay completed scenarios.
• Overhead Shroud: Reduces external light interference, helps mitigate motion sickness, and contributes to a realistic in-cab training environment. • Over-the-Shoulder & Blind-Spot Screens: Integrated additional screens for blind-spot visibility and backing maneuvers.
• Scenario Builder Software: DTS proprietary tools for creating or recreating custom training scenarios.
• DUI Simulation Setting: Allows instructors to safely demonstrate impaired-driving conditions.
• Heil-Style Pneumatic Electric Joystick: DTS is the only manufacturer that offers this configuration for solid waste/sanitation training.
• MDC (Mobile Data Computer) Capability: Allows instructors to send dispatch-style messages from the Instructor Operating Station (IOS) directly to the simulator’s student display.
• Training Scenarios: Includes a library of 200+ pedagogically rigorous scenarios. • SMART Curriculum & Software: Optional proprietary DTS curriculum package integrating structured training pathways.
• Instructor Vehicle Interface: Enables instructors to control AI vehicles within any scenario for real-time interaction with the student driver.
• Steering Wheel & Controls: Real Interceptor steering wheel and authentic vehicle components.
