RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD’S APPLICATION FOR
UNITED STATES BUREAU OF RECLAMATION SNOW WATER SUPPLY FORECASTING PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS FY 2026
WHEREAS, The United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity dated March 6, 2026 (NOFO), under the Snow Water Supply Forecasting Program (SWSFP) Opportunity No. R25AS00210, established under P.L. 116-260, Sec. 1111; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to apply for SWSFP funding and submit the Application Package released by the USBR for the SWSFP.
WHEREAS , the USBR is authorized to approve funding allocations for the SWSFP, subject to the terms and conditions of the NOFO Program Guidelines, Application Package, and Standard Agreement. The USBR is authorized to administer the approved funding allocations of the SWSFP.
NOW, THEREFORE, INCORPORATING THE FOREGOING RECITALS HEREIN, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. Applicant is hereby authorized and directed to apply for and submit a proposal to the USBR to obtain a GRANT pursuant to SWSFP NOFO Opportunity No. R25AS00210 dated March 6, 2026 not to exceed $999,999.
2. Applicant shall be subject to the terms and conditions as specified by the SWSFP Standard Agreement to receive GRANT funding.
3. That the Water Department Director of the City of Bakersfield, or designee, is hereby authorized and directed to prepare the necessary data, conduct investigations, file such proposal, and execute a grant agreement or any amendments thereto with USBR.
