SUBJECT: Street Utility Cut Guarantee agreement with Ripple Fiber California, LLC that ensures the appropriate repairing and replacing of streets after cutting existing roadways to lay utility lines. (All Wards)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the agreement.
BACKGROUND:
Ripple Fiber California, LLC is installing new facilities throughout the City right-of-way within the city limits.
As a requirement, Ripple Fiber California, LLC must obtain a street permit for each project, including paying deposits and pavement degradation fees. As an alternative to paying these deposits and fees, Ripple Fiber California, LLC is requesting to enter into a street utility cut guaran tee agreement with the City that ensures Ripple Fiber California, LLC will repair and replace any substandard work done to City streets as a result of installing new facilities. Additionally, this agreement helps expedite the street permit process for the City and Ripple Fiber California, LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the City’s General Fund.
