SUBJECT: Purchase of Panasonic CF -33 Laptop Computer Bundle and Accessories for the Police Department.
Accept bid from Lehr Upfitters OpCo LLC, Sacramento Ca, ($446,816.71) for Panasonic CF-33 Laptop Computer Bundle and Accessories for the Police Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend acceptance of bid
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for replacement Panaso nic CF -33 Laptop Computer Bundles and Accessories for Technology Services Department. Five (5) bids were received in response to the solicitation.
This purchase will replace 91 Panasonic CF -33 laptops that are worn out and have exceeded their useful life. These Panasonic laptop computers, commonly referred to as rugged or Toughbook laptops, are used in police vehicles to support daily field operations. The Panasonic CF-33 models are designed to be water- and dust-resistant and are drop-tested from heights of up to six feet. Based on these durability features, the Technology Services Department recommends the Panasonic CF -33 as a suitable solution for Police Department field use.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are budgeted in the Equipment Management Fund and the Public Safety Vital Services (PSVS) Fund for this purchase.
