RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Committee receive and file.
BACKGROUND:
California Public Policy Group (CPPG) provides the City of Bakersfield with legislative advocacy services at the state level, and grant writing services for state and federal grants. Each quarter, CPPG provides an update to the Laws & Legislation Committee on legislative advocacy in Sacramento and the City’s grant awards.
For the May 2026 meeting, CPPG will provide a legislative summary, highlight a few key bills of interest, review some key items from the Governor’s May Revise, and discuss any major grant developments since our last meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund.
