ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8.27, BY ENACTING
SECTION 8.27.012 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO LEAD HAZARDS AND SUBSTANDARD
COMPLAINTS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 8.27, Section 8.27.012 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby enacted to read as follows:
8.27.012 Lead Hazards and Substandard Complaints.
Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 17970.5, upon complaint from a tenant, resident or occupant, or an agent of a tenant, resident, or occupant, regarding potential violation of Health and Safety Code Section 17920.10 or regarding a building being substandard pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 17920.3, the City shall within the time specified by statute, conduct a mandatory inspection and specify actions that can be taken to mitigate hazards present.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days after the date of its passage.
