BACKGROUND:

On September 23, 2020, the City of Bakersfield entered into Agreement No. 2020-178 with the Housing Authority of the County of Kern (“Housing Authority”), in which the City granted $261,258.93 in Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention Program Round 1 (HHAP-1) funding to provide Youth Rental Assistance services, including financial assistance and the delivery of permanent supportive housing solutions, to include landlord incentives, security deposits, rent, and utility arrears to homeless transitional age youth (18-24 years) who have aged out of the foster care system within the City of Bakersfield with a Term set to expire September 30, 2022.

On May 24, 2023, the parties entered into Amendment No. 2 to Agreement 2020-178 to extend the Term expiration date from September 30, 2023, to March 30, 2024, to allow for the Housing Authority to successfully expend the remaining HHAP-1 grant funding.
