SUBJECT: Roof Replacement at City Hall South, West Wing.
Accept bid and approve contract to Best Contracting Services, Inc., Gardena, CA, ($143,656) for Roof Replacement at City Hall South, West Wing. (Ward 2)
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommend acceptance of bid and approval of contract.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for Roof Replacement at City Hall South, West Wing. Seven bids were received in response to the solicitation.
The existing roof at City Hall South, West Wing is over 20 years old and has reached the end of its expected service life. Replacement of the roof is justified due to deficiencies in the existing roof design, which have resulted in inadequate drainage, causing water ponding and recurring leaks. The proposed project includes the installation of an additional roof drain to improve drainage performance. Furthermore, the existing roof assembly consists of two layers of roofing material, which exceeds the recommended limit for additional overlay installations. As a result, complete roof replacement is recommended.

Recommended award amount includes both base bid and additive alternate bid for the rep lacement of the north section of the west wing roof at City Hall South.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project will be funded with Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget from the Capital Outlay Funds in the amount of $150,000, no further allocation of new funds will be needed for this project.
