SUBJECT: Street Utility Cut Guarantee agreement with Ripple Fiber California, LLC that ensures the appropriate repairing and replacing of streets after cutting existing roadways to lay utility lines.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the agreement.
BACKGROUND:
Ripple Fiber California, LLC is installing new facilities throughout the City right-of-way within the city limits. As a requirement, Ripple Fiber California, LLC must obtain a street permit for each project, including paying deposits and pavement degradation fees. As an alternative to paying these deposits and fees, Ripple Fiber California, LLC is requesting to enter into a street utility cut guarantee agreement with the City that ensures Ripple Fiber California, LLC will repair and replace any substandard work done to City streets as a result of installing new facilities. Additionally, this agreement helps expedite the street permit process for the City and Ripple Fiber California, LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Action to approve this agreement does not commit the city to any financial obligation to the vendor providing these services. There is no fiscal impact to the City’s General Fund.
